Bearing Witness: Holocaust and Beyond

Robert Jay LiftonInaugural Krouse Visiting Scholar, Dr. Robert Jay Lifton M.D, Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at The City University of New York at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Dr. Lifton has published extensively on many topics, including: psychological behavior in extreme situations, holocaust and war, with special emphasis on the psychology of the survivor; the psychological components of mass killing (specific study of medical behavior in Auschwitz and Nazi doctors in general); and psychological dimensions of individual, social and historical change.
