Martin Buber’s Philosophy of Dialogue Today

Paul Medes-FlohrPaul Mendes-Flohr is one of the world’s foremost scholars of Jewish thought. The Dorothy Grant Maclear Professor of Modern Jewish History and Thought in the Divinity School at the University of Chicago, he is the author of such seminal books as From Mysticism to Dialogue: Martin Buber’s Transformation of German Social Thought (1989), Gershom Sholem: The Man and His Work (1994), German Jews: A Dual Identity (1999), and The Philosophy of Franz Rosenzweig (2002). In addition, he is the editor of countless important source collections, including the path-breaking The Jew in the Modern World (1980/2010).
