Students, faculty, visitors, and community members gathered at the Margie K. and Louis N. Cohen Center for Jewish Life on Sunday for our 2nd annual "Welcome Bagels" event. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another and to learn more about Jewish Studies and Jewish life on campus--in addition to enjoying schmoozing and, of course, the bagels.
PJCS faculty and instructors spoke about the Jewish Studies major and minor, our Fall 2019 courses, and future events. Students still looking for course may want to check out our Hebrew and Yiddish offerings, Israeli Cinema and Television, and Jewish American and U.S. Minority Literatures in Dialogue (the latter two carry Gen Ed credit).
We are grateful to Illini Hillel for providing this opportunity and to members of the PJCS Advisory Council for sponsoring the event. Mark your calendars for the Spring 2019 "Welcome Back" bagel brunch on January 25th, and please join us for upcoming events, including "Reflections of a Jerusalem Correspondent" next Monday, September 9th at 5PM. You can find more information about all future events on our calendar.
